Achievements: Founding and growing JCPR into a leading public relations and communications firm specializing in financial services; serving on the board of Easter Seals, and providing pro bono PR and marketing services to the nonprofit; developing workplace benefits at JCPR that are family friendly for all employees.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, Saint Peter’s University.

Role model: “Lee Schultheis, CEO and co-founder of AIP Funds, has been my longtime mentor and role model. Lee gave me the confidence to start JCPR at age 26. He helped me gain the confidence that my work and relationships were good enough to stand on their own.”

What do you wish someone had told you when you were first starting out in business? “Like life, business isn’t fair. Not everyone will appreciate or acknowledge the great work you do. There will be times when you are blamed for something that isn’t your fault, or you’ll bear the brunt of someone’s frustration that has nothing to do with you. You have to know how to defuse the situation so cooler heads prevail. That skill will take you a lot further than throwing up your hands and declaring something is not your problem.”
