According to a source close to the matter, Gov. Chris Christie will again deliver the keynote address at a congressional dinner hosted by the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce as part of its annual “Walk to Washington” event on February 19.

Though Christie has keynoted past “Walk to Washington” events, word of the governor’s plans to do so again next year only recently emerged, according to the source.

February may prove to be a busy month for Christie, who recently said he would discuss a possible bid for the White House in 2016 with his family over the holidays and will look to make a decision in the “first part of next year.”

Now entering its 78th year, the two-day event features a chartered Amtrak train that takes politicians and members of the business community from several points in New Jersey to Washington, D.C., making stops along the way in Philadelphia and Wilmington. In Washington, guests attend a dinner featuring the state’s congressional delegation at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel and then return to New Jersey the following morning on another chartered train.

Though traditionally held in the winter months, the 2014 “Walk to Washington” took place in April as a snowstorm that ravaged the Northeast forced the event to be rescheduled.

Christie also keynoted the 2014 event and his speech was carried live nationally on CSPAN.
