Doctors group acquired by Tennessee company

Teaneck Emergency Physicians has been acquired by TeamHealth Holdings, Inc., the provider of outsourced physician staffing solutions announced Wednesday.

Teaneck Emergency Physicians, which manages and staffs the emergency department for Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, provides care for about 53,000 patients each year, TeamHealth said in a news release.

"We are excited to join a physician-led, patient-focused organization that shares our commitment to quality, efficiency and exceptional patient care," Dr. Richard Schwab, president of Teaneck Emergency Physicians, said in the release. "Our partnership with TeamHealth will allow us to continue providing exceptional patient care while gaining access to a strong infrastructure to support affiliated providers, our hospital partner and the patients and families we're privileged to serve."

Terms of Teaneck’s deal with Knoxville, Tennessee-based TeamHealth were not disclosed.
