Acelleron Medical Products, a unit of Eatontown-based Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services, announced Tuesday that it has acquired Maternal Health & Fitness of North Andover, Massachusetts.

The home medical equipment company said in a news release it will form a new division, Acelleron Maternal Health & Wellness, which will be based in North Andover and led by Suzanne Vecchi, former owner of Maternal Health & Fitness.

"There is no greater reward than knowing you've made a positive difference in a woman's transition into motherhood as a result of the resources provided from the studio,” Vecchi said in the release. “I am confident being part of the Acelleron team will provide the opportunity to positively impact the journey for many more women and families."

The acquisition will allow Acelleron to offer a wider range of services to clients through resources for pregnant women and families, it said.
