Muscle Maker Grill adding franchises in N.J., nationwide

Muscle Maker Grill, a fast-casual restaurant franchise, announced Tuesday that it will be opening 22 new locations nationwide, including eight in its home state of New Jersey.

The restaurant chain, founded and headquartered in Colonia, said in a news release it will be opening stores in Audubon, Deptford, Montvale, Northfield, Princeton, Somerdale, Williamstown and at Rowan University.

Other franchises will open in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina and Texas.

The openings will bring the total number of Muscle Maker Grills to more than 75 across the country.

"This is a significant achievement for Muscle Maker Grill and we are thrilled to report our steady growth and continued expansion into the Midwest and Western markets," Rod Silva, founder of Muscle Maker Grill, said in the release. "Our truly unique concept of great food with your health in mind is gaining popularity throughout the U.S. and we look forward to helping each of our new franchisees grow their local presence with unparalleled corporate support."

Eric did Muscle Maker Grill say anything about 25-30 closed franchises?

Pretty high failure rate if you ask me.

The closure list is in the Franchise Disclosure Document FDD in Item 20 as of the end of 2013.
