New Brunswick-based Connotate, a provider of Web data platforms and services, announced Wednesday that it has appointed K. Venu Venugopal as its first-ever chief product officer.
In his new role, Venugopal will be responsible for managing the company’s portfolio of platforms, services and products, according to a Connotate news release.
Venugopal has more than 20 years of experience in technology and data products.
"Connotate is a leader in helping companies leverage Web-sourced data to create competitive advantage or new business models." Connotate CEO Rich Kennelly said in a prepared statement. "Venu's data and technology experience, industry knowledge, and focus on innovation will ensure we continue to lead the industry and meet the evolving needs of our customers. I am thrilled to have him on board as a member of the Connotate team."
Prior to Connotate, Venugopal was vice president of product management, engineering and business development at Reed Elsevier. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Computer Associates. Prior to CA, he was with Sprint.

My goal is to continue to innovate by expanding delivery options and developing new products that make it even easier for companies to harvest and use the world's largest database — the Web."
