Pompton Plains tech firm buys N.Y. telecom

    Pompton Plains-based Entel Systems Inc. has purchased New York-based telecom company Midatlantic Telecom, effective Monday, Aug. 18, it said in a news release.

    The technology solutions firm said Wednesday that it is expanding its telephone service operations through the deal.

    “Although we have always had a New York presence, this move is part of our long-range strategic plan for business expansion and revenue growth,” Entel Vice President Don Giordano said in the release.

    Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
