Real estate company growing, adding jobs in New Jersey

By ,

Massey Knakal, a diversified real estate company, announced recently that it has expanded its New Jersey presence, including bolstering its workforce and moving into permanent office space.

“The company has done business in New Jersey previously,” said David A. Simon, executive managing director for New Jersey. “It just hasn’t done it the way we’re doing it now. … not with this type of focus and support and having leadership in New Jersey.”

Simon is overseeing Massey Knakal’s day-to-day operations in New Jersey, as well as recruiting and expansion of its service lines in the northern and central parts of the state.

The company, which works with owners and landlords in the sale, leasing and financing of properties, is continuing to hire salespeople, Simon said.

“We work in a territory system, so we hire one professional per discipline per territory,” he said. Massey Knakal’s New Jersey region has 24 territories divided among investment sales, retail leasing and capital services. So far, it has filled 10 of those positions — meaning 14 more sales slots will be filled, along with appropriate support personnel.

Massey Knakal’s new office is located at 301 Route 17 North in Rutherford, and Simon said the company is planning to open an office in central New Jersey, as well.

“Our model is a landlord-focused model, so for us to service our clients, which are owners and landlords, we need to be located close to their properties,” Simon said.
