Asset management company names new COO

A Woodcliff Lake maker of wireless asset management solutions announced Tuesday it has appointed a new chief operating officer.

I.D. Systems Inc. said in a news release that Norman Ellis will be the new COO, responsible for customer-facing operations, such as sales, marketing, customer service and support.

Prior to, Ellis had been vice president of sales, services and marketing for North America with Omnitracs, a provider of fleet management solutions that is a division of Qualcomm.

"With 35 years of hands-on experience managing sales and operations for global transportation and (machine-to-machine) asset management companies, Norm is an ideal candidate to take on a broad range of responsibilities to help I.D. Systems manage our next phase of growth," Kenneth Ehrman, I.D. Systems' chairman and CEO, said in the release.
