A Toms River-based insurance agency was purchased Monday by USI Insurance Services, one of the nation’s largest privately held insurance brokers.

USI said in a news release that it had closed on the acquisition of BHB Insurance Services, an independent insurance agency focused on community associations.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but USI said BHB’s office and employees would remain in Toms River as a new USI office and continue to serve current clients.

“For over 45 years, we have built a solid reputation through an ever-expanding list of clientele and dedicated staff,” Graham Blundell, co-partner of BHB Insurance Services, said in the release. “This acquisition enables us to combine our local technical expertise with USI’s national network of resources, and offer an expanded set of measurable and actionable solutions that will enhance our clients’ bottom-line success.”

USI, headquartered in Valhalla, N.Y., operates more than 140 offices nationwide.
