Simon has announced that John Westbrook has been appointed general manager at the Menlo Park Mall in Edison, it announced Thursday.

The global retail real estate company said Westbrook will utilize his more than 25 years of experience in asset management and retail real estate to oversee the mall’s operations, leasing, security, marketing and budget.

In his new role, Westbrook will also be responsible for creating partnerships with the Edison-area business community.

“We are pleased to welcome John to the Northeast region and into this new position at Menlo Park Mall,” Robert T. Guerra, regional vice president for Simon’s Northeast region, said in a statement. “I look forward to the contributions he will make in his new role to further the success at this world class premier property.”

In the past eight years, Westbrook held general manager positions within Simon Property Group. He has also managed malls in Virginia, the Midwest and Texas.

“I am excited to assume the general manager position at Menlo Park Mall in Edison, a staple in Simon’s impressive portfolio,” Westbrook said. “The center is very attractive from a management perspective and I look forward to continuing to expand its role as a vital member of the Edison community.”
