Report: Bakery company's $32M expansion would bring 100 new jobs to Vineland

By ,

Nearly 100 new jobs could come to Vineland once a Canadian-based baking operation completes a $32 million expansion there, according to a report by The Press of Atlantic City.

The story said Bridor Inc. has already started work on the project, which would add more than 45,000 square feet to its 132,000-square-foot plant in the Vineland Industrial Park South. The project would add 98 employees to Bridor’s existing workforce of 50, the report said.

The plant is the company’s only facility in the United States. Vineland city officials are supporting the expansion with a $5 million Urban Enterprise Zone loan that was approved last week by the City Council, though it’s contingent on Bridor getting a roughly $30 million loan from the National Bank of Canada, Vineland’s economic development director told The Press of Atlantic City.

Bridor’s products include baguettes, breads, rolls, croissants and pastries, the newspaper said. The story also cited a Bloomberg Businessweek report that said Bridor’s par-baked and frozen products are sold to grocery chains, hotels and restaurants in Canada, the United States and France.
