Supplements company expands through acquisition

By ,

A Freehold-based maker of dietary supplements announced Wednesday that it has purchased a neutraceutical company in order to improve its current service and prepare for future product expansion.

International Vitamin Corporation Inc. said in a news release that the cash purchase of Adam Nutrition Inc. will increase its manufacturing capacity for solid doses and add capability for producing supplemental and food powders. By acquiring Adam’s California facilities, IVC will be able to bolster its manufacturing and packaging capabilities. This follows a trend in which IVC has significantly increased its New Jersey capacity, IVC said.

"I am very excited to bring Adam Nutrition into the IVC family,” IVC President & CEO Steven Dai said in the release. “We look forward to helping Adam's current customer base grow their businesses while leveraging the powder capabilities to expand into new markets. This transaction also fits with our strategy to offer U.S.-made products to the global marketplace."

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
