Sealed Air Corporation announced Wednesday that it has purchased the Accel brand of products and the related American and Canadian health care business from Virox Technologies.

The Elmwood Park-based maker of Bubble Wrap and other packaging said in a news release that the deal will increase its Diversey Care business’s focus on health care surface cleaning and disinfection.

“We see a unique opportunity to leverage Virox’s patented technology and Professional and Technical Services model around the world to deliver thought leadership in the cleaning and disinfecting arena,” Ilham Kadri, president of the Diversey Care division, said in the release.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
