Fairleigh Dickinson is welcoming a new dean into its midst, and this one has a focus in business.
Dr. Andrew J. Rosman has been named dean of the university’s Silberman College of Business, effective July 1, 2014. Prior to, Rosman was the dean of the College of Management at LIU Post.
“I am confident that Dr. Rosman is the right person to lead Silberman College to the next level of excellence and distinction,” University Provost Christopher Capuano said in a prepared statement. “Passionate, hardworking, and resolute, Dr. Rosman has exceptional experiences in both public and private higher education.”
Rosman joined LIU in 2012 where he led important initiatives, including creating programs in China and Mexico as well as academic programs in entrepreneurship and branding, how to accomplish dual degrees, experimental learning programs and developing strong alumni ties and relationships with the business community.
Before LIU, he spent 23 years at the University of Connecticut, where he served in several roles including director of the MS program in accounting, executive director of Online Education for the School of Business and an accounting professor.
Rosman founded the MS program in accounting, which was ranked eighth in the 2013 Best Online Graduate Business Programs by U.S. News & World Report.
