A Newark-based nutritional supplements company named a new president Wednesday.

Inergetics Inc., announced in a news release that Chief Marketing Officer Jim Kras has been promoted to president of the company. Kras will continue to head up marketing operations, while adding oversight of sales and distribution to his workload.

"Jim is the perfect person for this role,” Mike James, CEO and chief financial officer, said in the release. “His accomplishments at Inergetics already extend well beyond building out our sales and marketing department. He has been crucial in creating the solid infrastructure for the fast-growing company we are building today. Not only has Jim widened the reach of our products through enhanced national and international distribution agreements, but he has helped develop a vision for our company as a whole while driving daily operations to support that vision."

Kras joined Inergetics in 2012, according to the release.
