Parsippany car rental company expands in Germany

By ,

Parsippany-based Budget Car Rental announced Tuesday it is opening 150 new facilities in Germany, doubling its total to nearly 300.

The growth, which started in April and will continue through July, is part of the rental car company’s strategic growth initiative, it said in a news release.

These facilities will be operated by licensees of Budget’s parent, Avis Car Rental, who will also become Budget licensees.

"We are committed to expanding Budget's footprint across Europe to better serve value-conscious business and leisure travelers," Larry De Shon, president, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Avis Budget Group, said in the release. "By leveraging our strong licensee partners across Germany and dual-branding locations, we can enhance Budget loyalty and drive improved profitability for both Avis Budget Group and our licensees."
