Emerson-based Micronet Enertec Technologies Inc., on Tuesday announced it had received a $2.7 million purchase order for its TREQ-VMx mobile computing device.

Delivery is expected through the end of 2014, according to a news release. The rugged portable tablets were developed by a division of Beijer Electronics, a recent acquisition that is now part of the Micronet Inc. unit.

"We are excited to announce this significant order following our recent Beijer acquisition,” David Lucatz, chairman and CEO of Micronet Enertec Inc., said in the release. “The TREQ-VMx perfectly complements Micronet's original product line, and it is opening up access to new applications and to new market segments."

The unnamed customer is a mobile resource management service provider in the transit industry, according to the release.
