Drug developer launches market to help clients partner up

By ,

Princeton-based drug developer Covance announced Monday it has created the Covance MarketPlace, which will enable clients to create partnerships in a secure forum.

The marketplace will help expedite biopharmaceutical development, according to a news release, by helping biotech companies showcase their products to bigger pharmaceutical manufacturers even as they continue their own licensing efforts. Covance would conduct development work to ensure quality data and design, as well as regulatory acceptance.

“Covance is uniquely positioned to provide novel solutions for both our emerging biotechnology and larger pharmaceutical clients,” John Watson, Covance chief commercial officer and president, strategic partnering, said in the release. “Covance MarketPlace provides a simple and elegant solution that connects the portfolios of our biotechnology clients with select pharmaceutical partners looking for innovative molecules backed by high-quality and regulatory-compliant data.”
