By ,

Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Salem County on Tuesday announced James R. Doherty will take over as president and chief executive officer on July 7.

Doherty will succeed Kent W. Jones, who is retiring after 25 years with the company. Doherty most recently served Farmers as senior vice president and treasurer, positions he held since 2008.

"We couldn't be more pleased to have someone with Jim's skills and experience to lead Farmers of Salem and continue to build on its current success," William DeCinque, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said in a news release.
