Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel company and part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, announced Wednesday the appointment of Paulo Pena as its new senior vice president and managing director, Latin America.
According to the announcement, the appointment comes from Wyndham being focused on maintaining a vigorous development strategy and growing presence in Latin America.
Pena will be responsible for leading the company’s development efforts in the region and provide operational, marketing, revenue management and sales services to Wyndham’s franchisees and network of multiunit development partners, the announcement said. He will be based in Wyndham’s Parsippany office.
Prior to Wyndham, Pena held various roles at Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Most recently, he was vice president, global partnerships.
"Wyndham Hotel Group continues to target Latin America as a crucial region for growth and Paulo will be an excellent leader for this charge," Bob Loewen, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Wyndham Hotel Group, said in a prepared statement. "His experience with strategic relationships combined with his broad industry knowledge will be fundamental to our development in the region as we continue to collaborate with key development partners to drive accelerated growth in Latin America's emerging markets."
