Short Hills-based Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), a source for commercial insights and information on businesses, announced Thursday that it has acquired the social data matching business unit of Fliptop, a software solutions provider that aggregates web and social data.
“This acquisition is a significant step forward in providing our customers with the most comprehensive data and insights around the people and businesses that matter most to them,” said Bob Carrigan, president, CEO and director, D&B. “Introducing rich social data that matches people with public profiles to the 230 million businesses in our database will offer our customers an edge in an increasingly digital sales and marketing environment.”
Financial terms of this acquisition were not disclosed.
According to the announcement, Fliptop, headquartered in San Francisco, will continue to operate independently from D&B.
