Rod Ryan, founder and chief executive officer of Bridgewater-based Open Road Auto Group announced in a press release the promotion of Michael Morais to president.
According to Ryan in a prepared statement, “From his most recent position as chief operations office and executive vice president of Open Road Auto Group, Michael (Morais) has displayed exemplary leadership for our more than our 1,200 employees, dedication to providing our thousands of customers the best automotive experience possible, and is ready to continue growing our more than 42 years of automotive excellence.”
Morais joined Open Road in 1997 as a sales associate and within a year he was named sales manager at Open Road Acura of East Brunswick, Ryan said.
Ryan said in 2001, he became the general manager for Open Road Acura in Wayne. He was then promoted in 2003 to vice president of operations for the Open Road Auto Group.
In 2006, Ryan said Morais facilitated a property acquisition for newly-named Open Road Mazda of East Brunswick and oversaw all of the renovations and opening of Open Road Mazda of Morristown’s Retail Revolution Center.
Ryan said in early 2010, Morais led the acquisition and opening of Open Road Mercedes-Benz in Bridgewater, and has been an integral part of the completion of Open Road Volkswagen and Audi Manhattan project in New York City.
