Chemetall US Inc., a division of Princeton-based Rockwood Holdings Inc., announced Wednesday it has acquired certain business assets of SaberPack in Lino Lakes, Minn.

The acquisition of SaberPack's glass surface protection technologies will strengthen Chemetall's worldwide market position in the glass industry, the company announced in a recent press release.

"The innovative interleaving powder glass protection business of SaberPack is a perfect fit for us to extend our broad range of high-tech protection materials and to further expand our regional presence in North America and abroad," said Kurt Wenzel, senior vice president of Corporate Strategy and Business Development at Chemetall.

Rockwood Holdings has approximately 3,500 employees in 17 countries and more than 50,000 customers. The company had a net sale of approximately $1.4 billion in 2013, according to the press release.
