The Raritan Valley Community College board of trustees announced Wednesday it has named Dr. Michael John McDonough as the new president effective June 2.
According to the announcement, McDonough, who previously served as vice president of academic services at Monroe Community College in Rochester, N.Y., will be the college's eighth president. He will be replacing Dr. Casey Crabill, who resigned June of last year.
"Dr. McDonough is a dynamic, creative leader who has extensive experience in dealing with the challenges and opportunities facing community colleges," said Dr. Paul Hirsch, chairman of the RVCC board of trustees, in a prepared statement. "He brings to this position an impressive record of success in developing innovative academic programs, supporting faculty development, advancing student retention and success, securing grant funding and forging community partnerships."
As president, he will oversee a $51 million operating budget, a full-time staff of 194 and faculty of 122.
