I recently heard a statistic that millionaires are already shouldering more than 85% of the tax burden in our State. If correct how much more do we want them to bear before they decide that it's less expensive to live elsewhere?
What happened to the old adage that says all people should strive to better themselves through hard work and, hopefully, get to be millionaires themselves? Why should we stifle ambition amongst the middle and lower class by taxing them more when they reach their goals?
We have become a great Country by encouraging people to better themselves, not tax them when they do. Philosophically, I believe it's just the wrong thing to do and I'm not a millionaire yet. But I would like to think I could be.
