National logistics competition coming to New Jersey

By ,

A national physical competition aimed at showcasing the logistics industry is coming to New Jersey on Friday, brokerage firm CBRE said in a news release.

With games such as the pallet puzzle sprint, the pallet jack relay, the pick/pack hurdle and the box put, the New Jersey LogistXGames will be held at 160 Herrod Blvd. in the Dayton section of South Brunswick. The five-hour event, which is being hosted by CBRE and the Material Handling Society of New Jersey, kicks off at 9 a.m.

The competition comes to the Garden State — where the logistics sector supports a thriving industrial real estate market — after starting in 2007 in Louisville and then being expanded to Indianapolis and Cincinnati last year, the news release said. In this year’s event, participants include employees from area companies such as Tiffany & Co., Lifetime Brands, Sleepy’s and Simon and Schuster.

Participating teams will be made up of four to 10 members, the news release said. For information about sponsoring the event and admission, visit www.mhsnj.com or contact Jamie Dennison at jamie.dennison@cbre.com.

The event is sponsored by Forsgate Industrial Partners.

All proceeds from the games after event costs will go to the MHSNJ Scholarship Fund.
