Princeton-based Choose New Jersey, the state's privately funded marketing and business attraction organization, announced Wednesday it received an “Excellence in Economic Development” award, by the Site Selectors Guild, a professional association comprising the world's most respected site selection consultants.

According to the announcement, the award was given to only four organizations worldwide and recognizes communities and individuals for outstanding performance and professionalism in economic development.

The award was presented to Tracye McDaniel, president and CEO of Choose New Jersey on Wednesday, during the Site Selectors Guild Annual Conference in Denver, Colo.

Tracye was recently featured as one of the NJBIZ 2014 Best 50 Women in Business honorees.

"Tracye McDaniel and the Choose New Jersey organization exhibited outstanding efforts to create and pilot one of the very first, privately funded, statewide economic development organizations, and to have set new job creation and retention records since its founding," said Jerry Szatan, President of the Site Selectors Guild.
