JCP&L prepared for winter storm

    Morristown-based Jersey Central Power & Light has implemented its storm restoration plan in anticipation for the winter storm that is impacting the area.

    According to the announcement, JCP&L meteorologists monitoring the developing weather conditions determined the heaviest snowfall will accumulate in northern New Jersey while areas in central New Jersey will receive less but have occasional wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour.

    Customers without power should call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) to report their power outages of click the "report outage" link on www.jcp-l.com. Customers should also immediately report downed wires to JCP&L or their local police or fire department, the announcement said.
