Rowan University on Tuesday named long-time higher education administrator Carl “Tobey” Oxholm III as executive vice president for administration and strategic advancement.
Oxholm will be responsible for the university's continued expansion of its role as a major economic driver and a center of innovation and entrepreneurial activities, according to a news release. As a senior counselor to Rowan President Dr. Ali Houshmand, Oxhold will oversee many departments.
Over his three decades in higher education and nonprofits, Oxholm has served as president of Arcadia University and as executive vice president and chief of staff at Drexel University, in addition to his 20-year career in law.
"Rowan is fortunate to have Tobey Oxholm join its administrative team," Houshmand said in a statement. "He has demonstrated great success in leading teams on cutting-edge projects in higher education, and he will be an exceptional asset for us at a time when we anticipate continued programmatic growth and expanded partnerships and we need to be creative and entrepreneurial in order to ensure access and affordability to the excellence in higher education that Rowan provides."
