Triple Play is a weekly NJBIZ feature that asks top executives in New Jersey to talk about three things related to their industry.
Alex Zaltsman is a serial entrepreneur and currently the CEO of InnoviMobile.com, a mobile application development company based in Piscataway. Alex has been in the technology field for more than 15 years and is the president of the New Jersey chapter of Entrepreneurs Organization (eonetwork.org).
We asked Alex for his top three tips for new and existing business owners:
Decisions: Making decisions quickly is mostly an art rather than science. It requires combining prior topical knowledge, intuition and all available facts to come to a decision. If a decision turns out wrong, learn from it and move on.
Mental Toughness: Entrepreneurship has been glamorized in the media. The day-to-day reality, though, is business ownership is hard. It requires the ability to overcome serious obstacles. Understand that failure is not personal and will lead to success. Don't beat yourself up. Most people can't do what you're already doing.
Peer Groups: Business ownership can be remarkably isolating. Chances are that your spouse/partner, friends and even former co-workers don't know what it's really like to be an owner. Having a peer group to bounce ideas around cannot be replicated.
