The retailing company Target Corporation announced Friday plans to open a 140,000-square-foot store in North Brunswick in October 2014.

According to the announcement, the North Brunswick location will employ approximately 250 new members. Target plans to host job fairs two months prior to the opening. The company has 1,797 stores in the U.S. and plans to open 10 more in 2014.

The North Brunswick Target will be located in the new development called Main Street North Brunswick, near Route 1 and Aaron Road. It will include a selection of fresh produce, fresh packaged meat and pre-packaged baked goods, as well as a Starbucks, a Target Pharmacy and a Target Optical, the company said in a statement.

Target is dealing with a massive credit card data theft at points of sale nationwide over the holiday season.
