Secaucus-based real estate company Hartz Mountain Industries Inc. announced Friday it has appointed Phillip R. Patton as the new executive vice president and general counsel of the company.
According to the announcement, Patton will succeed the firm's long-time general counsel, Irwin Horowitz, who will remain with the firm as an executive vice president and counsel emeritus. Patton joined Hartz's legal department in 1987 after working with Horowitz at the Newark-based law firm of Horowitz, Bross, Sinins & Imperial. Since 1987, Horowitz has been responsible for the development, management and oversight of Hartz's legal department. In 2012, NJBIZ named him General Counsel of the Year among private companies with revenues up to $1 billion.
