Wells Fargo on Monday named 30-year veteran banker Jane Navarria to head the bank's New Jersey business banking unit, which serves companies with sales in the $2 million to $20 million range.

As New Jersey business banking area manager, she leads four business banking teams with 58 bankers.

"As the economy improves and business optimism rises, Wells Fargo is increasing its efforts to support companies with all their business needs so they can succeed financially," Navarria said. "I look forward to working with our New Jersey banking team to develop strategies to better serve our existing clients and to grow market share."

Navarria comes to Wells Fargo from Citibank, where, since 2012, she was senior vice president and head of U.S. sales, strategy and execution for small business and Citi At Work banking.

From 2009 to 2012, Navarria was Citibank's Business Banking Director for the Mid-Atlantic region, overseeing the Washington and Baltimore markets. Prior to that, she was regional business banking manager for small to medium-sized businesses in the Mid-Atlantic.

Navarria previously worked for Wachovia, which was acquired by Wells Fargo. From 2003 to 2006, she was Wachovia's small business/private advisory banking leader in the Baltimore-region, directing business and private advisory client acquisition and relationship development.

Prior to that, Navarria worked at M&T Bank and Bank of America, and started her career as a branch manager for Bank of America.

Navarria serves on the Small Business Council of the Consumer Banking Association and is a member of the Executive Circle of the Business Banking Board. She graduated from Towson University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics.
