We know, we know: The local teams weren't worth a darn this year. At least in the W-L ledger.

But in the profit-and-loss sense, they were some of the industry leaders.

According to Forbes magazine's annual valuations, the Yankees and Knicks both rate as the most valuable in their sports. All three football teams (Giants, Jets and Eagles) are worth more than a billion dollars.

Not bad.

Here's the list of the top five valued teams in the four major sports (plus the locals when needed):

BASEBALL

1. Yankees ($2.3 billion)
2. Dodgers ($1.6 billion)
3. Red Sox ($1.3 billion)
4. Cubs ($1 billion)
5. Phillies ($893 million)
6. Mets ($811 million)
