Description: Founded in 1962, Paulus, Sokolowski & Sartor is an engineering, design and environmental consulting firm.

Proudest Gift: The firm’s commitment to public service. In 1992, Anthony J. Sartor was appointed to the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority. Seven years later, he was named a commissioner of the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, where he has served as lead commissioner on efforts to rebuild at the site of the World Trade Center.

Philanthropic Focus: Many organizations draw assistance from the firm. They include the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Boys and Girl Scouts of America, and Gilda’s Club, which supports families affected by cancer.

Encouraging Philanthropy in the Workplace: Leading by example has been one of the most effective methods of fostering community service in the firm. Another component is an open, engaged workforce, and work-life balance initiatives that allow employees to explore ways to use their time in meaningful ways.
