Description: Founded in 1927, Columbia Bank provides a range of financial services, including loans, investments and cash management. The bank has assets of $4.3 billion and operates 44 branches throughout New Jersey.

Philanthropic Focus: Over the last year, Columbia Bank has focused much of its time and energy toward helping people rebuild from the devastation of Superstorm Sandy. In one case, the bank donated $15,000 to help fix up the home of a single mother with a handicapped child.

Allocating Charitable Assets: The bank regularly supports local endeavors in four basic categories: affordable housing, community investment, financial education, and health and human services.

Encouraging Philanthropy in the Workplace: Columbia maintains a corporate environment that encourages employees to give something back to the communities in which they live and work. For instance, the bank has established an internal recognition program that offers employees a monetary reward for outstanding community support efforts.
