Mount Laurel-based home carbonation company SodaStream will advertise during the Super Bowl for the second consecutive year, the company announced today.
"The soda industry is dated and ripe for disruption, said SodaStream chief executive Daniel Birnbaum in a statement. "Our strong growth demonstrates that SodaStream is blazing the trail to a future where it will be mainstream for people to easily make fresh, delicious soda at home, no longer needing to lug bottles and cans of soda that can be unhealthy, often go flat, and generate billions of tons of garbage."
According to the announcement, SodaStream's product line allows consumers to create a broad range of carbonated drinks in the home. More than 100 different flavors are available from several brand, including Kool-Aid, Country Time and Crystal Light from Kraft, as well as Ocean Spray and others.
Company President Gerard Meyer explained the decision to return to the Super Bowl for its annual advertising campaign launch. "Last year our Super Bowl investment strengthened our retail relationships and raised our brand profile, yielding higher consumer awareness and resulting in excellent sales growth," he said in a statement.
The SodaStream commercial will run during the fourth quarter this year. Super Bowl XLVIII will air nationally on Fox on February 2, 2014 from MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands.
