Kennedy Health System, which has an administrative office in Vorhees and medical facilities throughout South Jersey, announced today it has named Joseph W. Devine president and chief executive officer.
Devine has been president and chief executive of the three-hospital Kennedy University Hospital system since July 2013.
According to the announcement, he will retain that responsibility, in addition to taking over leadership of the health system, which has facilities in Camden and Gloucester counties. Devine was previously senior vice president for administration at Kennedy from 2006 until earlier this year. He has been at the hospital for more than 25 years, holding executive roles in administration, corporate services, and hospital operations.
Devine has been involved in several initiatives during that time, including the development of the Kennedy Washington Township campus, the establishment of Kennedy Dialysis Services, the expansion of home health care, family health centers, and behavioral health programs, the company said in a statement.
Outside Kennedy, Devine is a commissioner of the South Jersey Transportation Authority, and is a member of the New Jersey Hospital Association Policy Development Committee.
Kennedy University Hospital announced a new vice president for medical operations in August.
