Accomplishments: Helping establish and build the pharmacy school; conducting research that has led to publications, patents and the birth of two biotechnology companies; volunteering for an inner-city church and a mentoring program on Staten Island, among other charitable endeavors.

Super Power: To slow down time.

What You Wish You'd Known Earlier: "The importance of networking. Being involved in building a program from the ground up, I've realized that every meeting, introduction, communication and event has played a vital role in building up a group of stakeholders who have assisted me in creating, developing and growing the School of Pharmacy from concept to reality."

Most Influential Role Model: "My graduate adviser at Princeton University, Jeff Schwartz, who showed me there's great value in understanding science, but an equally great value in being well-versed and well-rounded about all topics."

People Would Be Surprised to Know: "I am an avid NASCAR fan and regularly attend races, which is not your typical scientist's hobby."

With $1 Million to Donate, You Would Support: "New Hope Community Church and its sister organization, UrbanHopeNYC … The money would be well invested in outreach and service to the inner-city neighborhoods that both organizations serve."
