Schindler Elevator wins Hudson Yards contract

Morristown-based Schindler Elevator Corp. announced Tuesday it has won a contract to provide elevators and escalators at the South Tower of the Hudson Yards project, in Manhattan. Financial terms were not disclosed.

According to the announcement, Schindler will provide and install 32 elevators and four escalators at the 52-story, 1.7 million-square-foot commercial office tower to reside at the 26-acre site planned for a new business district in Manhattan.

Upon completion in 2015, the building is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
