Several New Jerseyans on the Forbes 400 Wealthiest Americans list

Forbes released its list of the 400 wealthiest Americans of 2013 Monday, four of whom live in New Jersey.

Donald Newhouse, 83, of Somerset County, tops the list at No. 52 overall with a net worth of $8.2 billion. Donald and his brother S.I. run the media conglomerate Advance Publications, which counts The Star-Ledger among its many holdings.

David Tepper. 53, of Livingston, is next at No. 53 with a net worth of $7.6 billion. Tepper, a hedge fund investor, is the president and founder of Appaloosa Management.

Leon G. Cooperman, 70, and Peter Kellogg, 71 – are tied at No. 166 overall. They both are listed as having $3 billion.

Cooperman worked at Goldman Sachs before leaving in 1991 to start his own hedge fund management firm, Omega. Kellogg ran his father's investment house, Spear, Leeds & Kellogg in 1973. He sold it to Goldman Sachs in 2000 for $6.5 billion.

Bill Gates tops the list for the 20th year in a row at $72 billion, followed by Warren Buffet ($58.5 billion) and Larry Ellison ($41 billion).
