Amerlux moving to 190,000-square-foot Oakland facility

    Fairfield-based retail and commercial lighting company Amerlux announced Tuesday it is moving its corporate and manufacturing base to a 190,000-square-foot facility in Oakland.

    The building was purchased by Unicorn Real-Estate Investment LLC and leased by Amerlux. Financial terms of the lease were not disclosed.

    According to the announcement, the new facility includes more than 70 percent additional space, featuring lean manufacturing processes for both interior and exterior lighting products. In addition, the facility will house showroom displays, testing areas and new metal fabrication equipment. Customer service and support offices also will be located at the new facility, the company said in an announcement.
