Parsippany-based specialty pharmaceutical company Actavis announced last week the appointment of James D'Arecca as its new chief accounting officer. D'Arecca will report to chief financial officer, R. Todd Joyce.
According to the announcement, D'Arecca joins Actavis from Bausch & Lomb, where he served in a similar role to his new Actavis position. Prior to Bausch & Lomb, he worked for Whitehouse Station-based Merck & Co, where he served as executive director & business development controller. Prior to joining Merck, Mr. D'Arecca was executive director & assistant controller at Schering-Plough, based in Kenilworth before its merger with Merck.
D'Arecca, a certified public accountant, earned his MBA from Columbia Universit and his BS in accounting from Rutgers University, according to the company's release about his appointment.
