The Bergen chapter of SCORE is hosting a two-part workshop this month that will help future entrepreneurs put their big business ideas on paper.

SCOREBergen, a local branch of a national nonprofit dedicated to helping entrepreneurs launch and grow their companies, will present the workshop on Aug. 20 and 27 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the public library in Maywood, at 459 Maywood Ave.

The first session will focus on writing a description of your business, developing a marketing plan, and attracting and retaining customers. The last session will look further into the future, with advice on forecasting financials, organizing resources to accomplish business objectives and the importance of periodically updating your business plan.

Peter Loder, a former senior consultant with Computer Sciences Corp., will head the workshop. Tickets cost $40 in advance or $50 at the door.
