Wall-based New Jersey Resources announced on Wednesday that its board has authorized it will add 1 million shares to its repurchase program.

The number of authorized shares has been increased a total of seven times, including today's announcement, to a current level of 9.75 million shares. To date, 8 million shares have been repurchased under the program.

The program has been in place since 1996 as a means of providing the company with capital management flexibility.
