FTC issues final consent order in Hertz merger with Dollar Thrifty

By ,

Park Ridge-based Hertz Global Holdings announced today the Federal Trade Commission has issued a final consent order in connection with Hertz's $2.6 billion acquisition of Oklahoma-based Dollar Thrift Automotive Group.

The acquisition was made in 2012 by interim agreement and subject to a proposed consent order entered into by Hertz and the FTC at that time.

According to the announcement, the final consent order contains no substantive revisions compared with the proposed order in effect since last year. Hertz divested its former Advantage car rental business, select airport concessions and certain other assets to Mississippi-based Franchise Services of North America Inc.
