Close Up: Marla Posey

Position: Regional property manager with Woodmont Properties, in Fairfield

Key Role: Overseeing Woodmont Properties' growing multifamily apartment portfolio management division.

Goals: To continue with and expand the Woodmont Properties brand within the multifamily apartment industry. Establish the Woodmont University for education. Expand resident programs and marketing strategies.

Previous Jobs: Director of residential property management with Edgewood Properties, where I was responsible for overseeing a large portfolio of communities in both New Jersey and Florida. I also was a regional property manager with Morgan Properties, where I was charged with oversight of communities along the Shore, as well as central and northern New Jersey.

Key Strengths: Building a cohesive team, mentoring and coaching, fostering strong business relationships, and an ability to see the big picture.

Career High: I take great pride in being part of a member of my team reaching their goals and potential. That said, my career highs have always been directly connected to assisting those around me, which builds and strengthens the team.

BASF has named two executives beginning new assignments in New Jersey.
  • Kenneth Layne became president of BASF's catalyst business, in Iselin, on June 1. He succeeds Frank Bozick, who left the company.
  • Andre Becker will become chief financial officer of BASF Corp., in Florham Park, on July 1, succeeding Fried Muenstermann, who is going to back to Germany as global head of procurement. Becker had previously worked in New Jersey as BASF Corp.'s head of human resources.


Electro-mechanical engineer Brittany Farrell has joined Stantec Team, in Rochelle Park.

With four years experience in engineering, Farrell will be focusing on electrical design for roads and highways. Her previous experience includes serving as a senior leader on a solar thermal water heater project, as well as researching, writing and publishing a report on energy harvesting.

Farrell earned a bachelor's degree in electro-mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

Health Care

Jim Mullen was named vice president of clinical services for Kennedy University Hospital, in Washington Township. He will oversee operational and clinical aspects of nursing and overall clinical operations at the Gloucester County hospital.

Mullen comes to Kennedy with more than 30 years' nursing and administrative experience. He most recently served as chief operating officer, chief nursing officer and senior vice president at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, in Northampton, Mass.

Mullen also held executive roles at Heywood Hospital, in Gardner, Mass. He also served 22 years in the U.S. Army Reserves as nurse corps officer, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.


Kaufman, Dolowich & Voluck LLP announced that Gino Zonghetti, an employment practices liability and professional liability attorney, and former district attorney in the Manhattan district attorney's office, will join as an equity partner and serve as managing partner of the firm's New Jersey office in Hackensack.

Zonghetti specializes in the defense of clients in admiralty and maritime law matters, as well as general liability matters, including personal injury defense, employment practices liability, directors' and officers' liability, and miscellaneous professional liability actions. He received his law degree from Catholic University Law School.

Also joining KDV will be James Kenny, founding partner of Kenny & Zonghetti, as counsel; and Kevin J. O'Donnell, Kenneth B. Danielson, Christie K. Tomm and John D. Blomquist as associates. Most of these attorneys will work in both KDV's New Jersey and New York City offices as client work dictates.

Peter Siachos has joined the New Jersey and New York offices of Gordon & Rees as a partner in the commercial litigation, franchise, product liability and hospitality practice groups.

Siachos has represented corporations, franchisors, closely held businesses, partnerships, and individuals in multiple jurisdictions. He earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Gordon & Rees has its New Jersey office in Florham Park.

Life Sciences

Hurel Corp., an early-stage biotech company based in North Brunswick, has named Iwona Kelley chief business officer.

Kelley joins Hurel from EMD Millipore, in Billerica, Mass. She will be responsible for leading Hurel's business, marketing strategy and client operation as the company readies the launch of its HurelStatic and HurelFlow products, which are designed to improve reliability and efficiency of pre-clinical drug development.

Kelley served as biosciences division district manager at EMD Millipore, responsible for serving the life sciences communities in the northeastern United States. She earned a master's degree in biology from Harvard University. Kelley will remain based in Boston.

Wealth Management

Advisors Asset Management has named Robert Roffo as senior vice president and portfolio manager to expand its tax-exempt management capabilities, primarily with municipal fixed income strategies. Roffo, who has more than 20 years' portfolio management experience, will be based at the firm's Princeton office.

AAM offers financial advisers access to the fixed income markets, as well as portfolio analytics, unit investment trusts, structured products, separately managed accounts and mutual funds.

Before joining AAM, Roffo was the managing director and senior portfolio manager of SMC Fixed Income Management LP for seven years. He also served the managing director at Claymore Advisors and director at Merrill Lynch Asset Management.
