The New Jersey Builders Association has named attorney Carol Ann Short to succeed former CEO Tim Touhey, who resigned in April to join Investors Bank.

Carol Ann Short

Short, formerly the organization's chief operating officer, has served as acting CEO since Touhey's departure. She has worked with the Trenton-based advocacy and lobbying group for more than 25 years, the NJBA said in a news release.

Short's appointment was announced Friday at the NJBA's board of directors meeting, the news release said. She will continue her work for a group that has been vocal in lobbying for legislation related to permit extensions, conversion of age-restricted housing and other issues related to commercial real estate.

Touhey left the NJBA to become a senior vice president with Investors, which is based in the Short Hills section of Millburn. He leads a growing real estate finance unit as the bank expands in to central and southern New Jersey, coinciding with its acquisition of Roma Financial Corp.
