Union shopping center announces lease for ShopRite store

By ,

Union Plaza Shopping Center, in Union, announced today a new anchor lease with Springfield-based Village Super Market Inc. to open a ShopRite grocery store. The property sits on 60,000 square feet. Terms were not disclosed.

According to the announcement, the property will undergo extensive renovations. The ShopRite is expected to open in the first half of 2014.

Correction: A previous version of this story said the ShopRite would occupy a building currently housing a Best Buy. The property actually was a Pathmark. The Best Buy is still doing business in the shopping center.
